How to hang a gallery wall in threes
A trio is the easiest gallery wall there is: three prints from the same collection, same palette, hung in a row. It reads as one piece — calm, intentional, done. Here is how we hang ours.
1. Pick one collection, three sizes
Stay inside one collection so palette and mood match. A classic trio: one 18 x 24 in (46 x 61 cm) center piece flanked by two 12 x 16 in (30 x 41 cm) prints. Same frame color on all three.
2. The 60–75 % rule
Measured as a group, your trio should span 60–75 % of the furniture below it. Above a 200 cm sofa, aim for roughly 120–150 cm of total width including gaps.
3. Gaps and height
Keep 8–10 cm between frames, and hang the group so its center sits about 145 cm from the floor — gallery height. That is it. No laser level required, just painter's tape and ten minutes.
